Honeymoon Day 7

We started this morning off by walking down to the cafe where we had breakfast the morning before, because there was a street artist who had been working on some new art, but wasn't going to be finished until later in the day. Instead of taking a photo at night, we just waited for the morning, and it looks super rad!

We then hopped the first train that would take us to Versailles, and Versailles also just so happens to be a band that I used to listen to back in the day, so what better place to listen to Versailles than at Versailles! The one major problem, my fault 100%, I wanted to get to Versailles as early as possible and forgot to feed Molly breakfast. We ate at the fancy restaurant on the property, but it was worth it, that cheese plate Molly had looked delicious.

Words honestly can't describe how beautiful Versailles is, nor can they describe the size of the property. Versailles is 3 Square Miles. Downtown Boston, aka "Original 1630 Boston," is only 1.5 Square Miles. Crazy, right?

Gorgeous hallway they had closed off.

Hall of mirrors featuring Molly, the same place where the Treaty of Versailles was signed ending World War 1.

Again, it's hard to really put this property size in perspective, but from where I'm standing to the end of the pond of the gardens, is the same distance as Boston Common to Fenway Park. MASSIVE.

After Versailles, the train would take us directly to this giant iron thing in the middle of the city. The Eiffel Tower is honestly way more impressive in person than any photograph can really say about it, it's huge, bigger than the John Hancock Tower in Boston by nearly 300 feet, it's honestly impressive. It looms in the background of anything in the city, as I still think Paris will not allow anything to be built taller than the Eiffel.

Lastly, we waited a very long TWO hours to see the Catacombs, and we probably could have paid the primo to skip the line, but that was double the cost to go in, and we didn't exactly have anything else left on our major "we want to do this" itinerary, so we waited and paid normal price. The stairs to the bottom are the most dizzying, but surprisingly the catacombs weren't very claustrophobic, normally I panic in small spaces, but this wasn't so bad!

Moulin Rouge is essentially across the street from our hotel, so I made sure to snag a photo of it lit up at night, and we ended up grabbing dinner at Le Chat Noire. Doesn't seem like we did a lot today, but we covered a ton of ground and saw some really rad sights.
