Honeymoon Day 3

Day 3 of our honeymoon also started with breakfast at the hotel, it's already paid for and it's pretty good, so hey, why not?

Our trip today starts with Westminster Abbey and Parliament, the latter of which we can't actually go inside and see because doing tours there are a nightmare, and if we can't get into Big Ben (limited tours for UK residents only, with permission from their MP), we decided we'd just walk around Parliament and go straight to Westminster Abbey.

Just before our wandering through the Abbey, we exited the train at Parliament Square Garden, which is home to quite a few statues, including Winston Churchill, Mahatma Ghandi, and Millicent Fawcett. Check em out:

Now's time to walk through the Abbey, and although I'm certain you -could- take photos inside, it doesn't seem like it's recommended to take photos inside. We decided that because half the church is a burial site and is sacred ground, we'd rather not take photos inside, but it's gorgeous and highly recommend walking through. They have an audioguide you can use as well, it's pretty handy. Here's Westminster Abbey:

Included in the Abbey is a weird piece of history: The Oldest Door in Britain (ASTERISK). Turns out there's a door on St Botolph's Church in Hadstock, Essex that's 30 years older. That door is considered the oldest continuously used door in England, but this door at Westminster Abbey is the oldest door in the UK... Even though it's 30 years younger than the one in Essex. I'm just as confused as you are.

Selfie time now! Selfie in front of Big Ben and Parliament.

Selfie with fish at the Aquarium:

The London Eye was a spectacular view, but it is totally a tourist trap, everything is in that area, but! The more you buy, the less it costs to do them. Just one thing is $35, but each add on is only $10 more each. So Going to the London Eye and Aquarium was $90 for the two of us, not terrible. You had the option to add Shrek's Adventure, London Dungeon, and Madame Tussauds as well, so it'd be a great option for families looking to kill time without walking around too much.

But Molly and I, we wanted to walk around some more, check out this photo in line with the London Eye, looks so cool from this angle:

First after this we walked over to Trafalgar Square and took photos in front of the National Gallery, free to visit. But before we went in, we went around the corner quickly to Piccadilly to grab a spot of lunch at a British Pub. Meat Pie and Fish & Chips, can't go wrong with that. Here's us by the National Gallery:

We returned to the Gallery after lunch and so some pictures: Look at my horse, my horse is amazing!

Anyway, here's Wonderwall.

After the Gallery, we went back to Piccadilly again for some touristy shopping, grab some trinkets for friends and family, then back towards to Hotel for a local dinner. This night's choice was Ethiopian Food, and Ethiopian Cuisine is so delicious and flavorful, and I keep forgetting I love it and should eat it more often.

That's all for Day 3.
