Honeymoon Day 2
I'm writing this post exactly a month to the day of when we were actually in London, but better late than never they always say, right?
Day 2 starts with waking up in the morning for breakfast at the hotel, which is held in the small little dining room in the basement of the building, but has windows to the street to allow light in, it was a cute little place. Orange Juice, Tea, Full English Breakfast, and more toast than a grocery store on fire. Seriously, our hotel loved to give us toast, there was so much of it.
One of our Number one stops in London was to see the Tower of London. Turns out that the area surrounding the Tower of London is London Proper. And most of the rest of the city was surrounding neighborhoods, that in modern times today have been annexed and now make up London. (Much like Boston Proper being about 1.5sq miles, but modern Boston being 44sq miles).
Here's a picture of the White Tower, the main centerpiece of the Tower of London.
After the Tower of London we made a short walk over to the Tate Modern Museum, which is a free to visit Museum in London. Along our walk we saw Tower Bridge, or as Fergie likes to call it "London Bridge." London Bridge is the bridge next to this one, and it's quite plain and boring.
The Tate Modern is a pretty neat museum, but by far my favorite thing about the Museum was an exhibit there hosted by the Hyundai Corporation, which was this low frequency bass sound that they'd pump throughout the main corridor of the museum. I'm a huge fan of low end frequencies, bands like Sunn 0))), Boris, and Electric Wizard are some of my favorites at dropping some sweet low end riffs, but it's impossible to photograph, so instead, here's a photo from the top floor of the Tate, floor 10:
And finally, made our way to THE SHARD, also known as the Swiss Chard, or as we called it, the Shart. The bathrooms there had windows that overlooked all of London, in case you wanted to take a dump with a view from 750 feet in the air. Instead though, with Valentine's Day around the corner, we took this nice photo at the top of the Chard surrounded by pretty flowers.
We didn't really find a place that struck a chord with us by the Shart, so we headed back to the hotel to eat something local, and we ended up at an Indian restaurant that was within a couple blocks of the hotel. Food was delicious, but portions were small and prices were large, nothing like Indian Food in the states where they pack it all in at a low price.
That's it for Day 2.

This is Molly in front of part of a Roman wall, which is her favorite thing ever.
This is one of the Royal Crowns held in a secure location at the Tower of London. To prevent people surrounding the crowns, they're placed along travelators (moving walkways) to keep people moving through the exhibits.

This is Molly posing at the end of Millennium Bridge, which I kept calling the "Willennium" Bridge, which overlooks St. Paul's Cathedral. We'll see a night view of this building quite shortly.

After the Tate we decided to go on a journey looking for a place to eat dinner and see some more of the sights. We walked past St Paul's Cathedral, took this up close photo of it:
We then snapped a photo of Shakespeare's Globe theater:
