Cody Parkey is the kicker for the Chicago Bears. He missed 7 field goals in the regular season, 5 of them hit the upright, 4 uprights happened in one game. The goal posts have 18 feet and 6 inches between them, arguably infinity outside of them, and the posts themselves are only 6 and 5/8 inches in diameter. With seconds left against Philadelphia, the Bears are lined up to win the game: Kick a field goal, move on to the next round. Philly calls a time out, play stops, but Parkey goes through with his movements, hits a beautiful field goal. 60 Seconds pass, the true attempt is about to come, he kicks the ball and it tails left, tails left, tails left... Doink. Hits the upright. Number 6. Game. Philadelphia. Poor Cody Parkey. How hard is it to hit the upright? Not at all if you're a Bears fan, apparently. It's the perfect end to a weird season for the kicker. Joe
